Curtis Salgado
Blues city, baby. Curtis gets mean and nasty on his harp, and packs a killer voice to back his blowin'. The band is always top notch, often sporting musicians from Santana, the Robert Cray Band, and the like. After growing up in Eugene, Curtis took off to Southern California to play tunes. The famous story is that John Belushi saw Curtis play, was so moved by the performances, that he started his own act, and later, the Blues Brothers. If you look on the back of the soundtrack to the movie, indeed it states, "dedicated to Curtis Salgado".
Now, if that isn't enough to get you to the show, or to buy his CD, I don't know what will! I have watched him perform for many years now, with countless different backing musicians. He is always first class in both performance and as a gentleman after the show to his fans.
