Linda Hornbuckle
Linda is a soul diva here in the northwest-really the only one that I know of. This woman gets the crowd goin', boy. She has been playing around the west coast for a long time now, and headlines a lot of shows and festivals. She can even be caught at the semi-well-known Mt. Hood Jazz Festival each year. I bet this lady could really skat if she wanted to! Of course, her band is fat as ever.
She currently (1/2000) has two keyboard players, guitar, bass, horns, and Mr killer drummer himself, Brian Foxworth. That man is bad, I tell you. Linda will get the most placated crowd up on their feet and jumpin', so it is always a great show to see. Their latest CD is good too, but a bit too produced for my liking. A little more raw-ness is always good to hear; live shows are the best. Pick one up if you can, though. It is good listening.
Pretty much any venue is good to see Linda at, but I would suggest going to those that allow and provide ample space for dancing. Even if you don't like to dance, the show will be best when the crowd is helping her out.
